Our topic implies in itself two things. It implies that the minister is first of all a minister and it implies further that as such he is also an exegete. And it is an undeniable truth, abundantly proved by history, that the church thrives and is safe only when her clergy administers the Word of God and does so on the basis of sound and continued exegesis.
