Humiliation

A proud man is an abomination, and that not only in the sight of God, but also in the sight of man. No one loves the strutting fool. It is so "onmenschelijk" to be puffed up in foolish pride; to speak loftily. And it seems as though we feel it instinctively, for when we are out to sing our praises in the hearing of our fellows, we do so very cunningly.
