Rev. Steven R. Houck argues that God's sovereignty is not merely one doctrine among many but rather the heart of the gospel itself, drawing on the witness of the Psalms to demonstrate Scripture's clear teaching on God's absolute sovereignty over creation, providence, and salvation. The pamphlet defends the proper emphasis on this doctrine against those who counsel restraint or "balance" in its proclamation, asserting that God's sovereign election, application of Christ's work, and governance of all affairs deserve central prominence in Christian belief and preaching.
