The debate between Job and his three friends begins with chapter four and ends with chapter thirty-one. It is formed of three distinct groups of discourses. The first discourse in each group is of Eliphaz, the second of Bildad and the third of Zophar; but in the last group no discourse of Zophar appears. Job replies to each in turn.
