THE ELDERS OBTAINED A GOOD TESTIMONY BY FAITH (Hebrews 11:2) That faith is indeed the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen is proven by the testimony which the elders received from God Himself through this faith! The writer in speaking here of "elders" is not referring to elders as office-bearers in the New Testament Church, nor exclusively of the elders of the people in the Old Testament, but rather of the ancient fathers generally.
