Though the tabernacle as a whole was God's house, his proper dwelling place was the holiest -- the seat and throne of His kingdom. Here therefore occurred the highest and most distinct revelations of Himself as Israel's redeemer God. And as these revelations were made through the things that were found in this place, it is to these things that regard must be had. The only furniture of the holiest place was the ark.
