James Laning critiques what he views as an erroneous understanding of God's kingdom being promoted at certain Reformed colleges, particularly their emphasis on worldly renewal and social improvement. He argues from Scripture that God's kingdom is exclusively the church, that Christ rules the non-elect with judgment rather than redemptive grace, and that believers' focus should be heavenly rather than earthly. This article defends a distinctive Reformed eschatological position against what the author sees as a departing theology within Reformed educational institutions.
